Negative trade-in value is a type of dealer fraud which involves the dealer misstating the value of your trade-in. Fraudulent Certification of Rebuilt Wrecks or Flood Vehicles as Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles That are “Like New”

All of the multi-national car makers – Audi, Volkswagen, GM, Toyota, Nissan and Ford have programs called Certified Pre-Owner Vehicles. These used cars are advertised as being special and “like new” having supposedly undergone thorough 172-point inspections. In fact, we have found that the manufacturers delegate the inspection to their used car dealers, some of whom are unethical and meet the negative stereotype of a crooked used car dealer. These dealers deceive consumers along with the manufacturers and certify the vehicles, on behalf of the manufacturers, resulting in handsome profits for the dealers.
